China Annual Individual Income Tax Reconciliation (ATR) for 2024 – Filing Requirements for Global Employees

Webinar | Wednesday, April 2, 2025 | 4:00 PM China / 3:00 PM Vietnam / 10:00 AM CET

Apr 02, 2025

The ATR is a mandatory process where individuals review the Individual Income Tax (IIT) paid and withheld throughout the year, calculate any additional tax liabilities or refundable amounts, and submit the final tax settlement to the authorities. All resident taxpayers, including Chinese nationals and foreign nationals, must complete this process between March 1 and June 30, 2025.

As this is a required step, it is crucial to complete the process accurately. Failing to do so can lead to time-consuming procedures, administrative penalties, and potentially affect future employment for returning foreign employees. Understanding the ATR filing requirements is essential.

In this webinar, our tax expert, Janice Dong, Manager from the International Payroll & Tax team, will guide attendees through the ATR process. She will help determine if you are required to file for 2024 based on current regulations. Janice will also explain the special filing obligations for Chinese nationals working abroad that should be considered.

A separate Chinese-language webinar for Chinese nationals working abroad will follow. Stay tuned on our event page, or indicate your interest in the registration form.
