Around the world, governments have come to recognize the importance of transparent institutions in promoting economic stability. Developed countries and developing countries alike have ramped up anti-corruption enforcement, in a coordinated attempt to address multinational companies that operate across borders. Notably, in China there have been 90 separate enforcement actions against corrupt officials in recent years. In the wake of increased vigilance, companies with a presence in China have come to recognize the importance of having a proactive, and effective anti-corruption compliance program.
AGENDA
In order to help companies navigate this environment, and bridge the divide between governments and the companies they oversee, Duxes will host the 9th Anti-Corruption Compliance in China Summit 2017, on June 8-9 in Beijing. The summit is the latest event in Duxes’ Anti-Corruption Series, and will gather representatives from government, industry, and the non-profit sector, to discuss important developments and trends in the fight against corruption.
Over the course of the two days, speakers and panelists will delve into topics at the forefront of global anti-corruption enforcement. Representatives from government agencies will provide in-depth analyses of the enforcement environment in their respective jurisdictions. Other speakers from international organizations, including FIFA and the World Bank, as well as compliance officers from leading Chinese companies LeTV, and Baidu, in addition to international companies, such as Standard Chartered Bank and Novartis, will lend their experience in the field to advising attendees on optimal compliance practices.
The 9th Anti-Corruption Compliance in China Summit 2017 comes at a moment in which anti-corruption enforcement is at the forefront of public consciousness. In providing this platform for delegates to learn from shared testimony and knowledge, Duxes strives to follow up on its years of experience organizing events dedicated to fighting corruption.
