Although telematics, connected vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and usage-based insurance (UBI) are largely in the development stage, the realization of those technologies will have an enormous impact on the automotive and automotive insurance industries in due time. The IHS expects UBI to attract 143 million subscribers by 2023, and ADAS is likewise projected for mass consumption, as shipments are projected to exceed one billion units by 2025. Chinese companies are active participants in this phenomenon, investing heavily in Internet, car networking services, but the overall telematics sector remains undeveloped.
AGENDA
